Places to Know About in North Bay if You Are a Pet Owner

Pet Stores

Lisa's Doghouse - 1456 Seymour Street: has a great variety of dog food and cat food that isn't' available from the other pet stores in town. Also has a great selection of dog toys, but not as many cat toys. Carries a variety of food bowls, harnesses, and coats for dogs. Locally owned small business.

PetSmart - 850 McKeown Avenue: great for the overall get everything-in-one-place kinda store, not a huge variety for small animals or bird products but has some of the basics. Huge selection of dog and cat food ranging from all price categories.

Pet Valu (2 locations) 1899 Algonquin Avenue & 300 Lakeshore Drive: has some different brands of food that other stores may not carry. Products are a bit on the pricier side compared to PetSmart.

Trails & Parks

North Bay Dog Park - Champlain Park: this is currently the only off-leash dog park located in North Bay. There is both a small and large dog section and dogs are required to be up to date on their vaccinations to be permitted to play in the park. Please do not bring dogs under 4 months of age as they are not fully vaccinated and would be at risk of exposure to various pathogens.

Laurier Woods Conservation Area - Parking just off Brule St and limited parking at the end of Laurier Avenue: a wonderful series of trails ranging from a quick 20 min walk to longer 1-2 hour hikes. Dogs are required to be on-leash while on the trail but be aware that some people do let their dogs off-leash, so keep an eye out. Also, be sure to pick up after your dog, we want to keep this space clean and accessible for all.

Duchesnay Fall Trails - Free parking off Hwy 11 before Necessities Gas Bar but after the Hospital. Could also park up at the university but you will have to pay on weekdays. Has a variety of trails ranging from novice to advanced. Beautiful view of the waterfall and great smells for your pup. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Pampered Pet Salon - 207 Ferguson St.

Dip N' Clip Pet Grooming - 2660 Four Mile Lake Road

Animal Boarding

We currently mainly offer pet sitting in the pet's own home as that is where they feel the safest and boarding in my home is not something I can widely offer at this time (working on this for the future though!) So here are some animal boarding facilities located in North Bay if I am unable to suit your needs.

Best Care Kennels - 1846 Main St W.

Airport Kennels - 935 Tower Drive.

Waggy Tails Resort 1134 Hwy 17 W

Precious Paw Doggie Daycare Inn - 1260 Regina St.

Dog Training

I have heard wonderful things about both of these places but at this time have not used them myself.

Touch Animal Rehabilitation - 1140 Front St

Kean's K9 Obedience and Behaviour Dog Training - 381 Stevens St.
